Happy New Year!!

I hope all of you have had a great year and that the following one will be even better than the previous one.

In my case, I've had a fantastic one. I finished my studies at high school with good marks and I passed the International Baccalaureate. I have had to say goodbye to many friends and classmates that came with me in that hard journey. The IB has been my greatest adventure and challenge, and I would like to thank everyone who helped me in those terrible moments. Thanks to my family and close friends who supported me in the hardest moments; thanks to my teachers and classmates. Thanks for the great friends I made in those two years; you'll be with me forever.

After that end, I had a great summer with my best friend C. We did many activities and a fantastic night-sight camping full of surprises and emotions. Therefore, we found new places to explore and new people to visit. Thank you, parabatai!

To complete this fantastic year, I have to say that I've met the most bizarre flamboyant striking diverse and extraordinary group of marvelous ladies I could have ever imagined at university. You could call it destiny, but I think that it’s more like a messy joke. However, I'm glad it happened.  We have lived many adventures in just few months; I would like to think that we’ll live lots of them in the future years.

I hope you are as happy and lucky as me!

All I can tell you is… Happy New Year and that I hope all your dreams come true!!

Merry Christmas!!

I hope you are having a great holiday and you can spend time with your family.
It is a time to think, to reflect about the year that it is going to finish, about the family, friends and important relationships of our lives. It is also a time for us to travel, to visit people we love and take a break from our daily busy life.

For instance, I have travelled to see some members of my family. And, now, I am here, in the cold North. How wonderful it is! It hasn't rained yet, but it will be (or I'll hope it). I remember when I was younger in this same place. The hours spent under the rain, the frozen wind, the snowflakes falling, the freezing nights. And, how we played! Because we knew how to play. Making angels in the snow, snowmen, snowball wars, cycle runnings, walk over the ice puddles trying to not to fall down or playing toys next to the chimney to not to lose the hit.

It is said that magic is in the children, thus Christmas is for them. However, while we have been growing up, I've understood that living Christmas is different from everyone. Children enjoy more the presents, the games, the holiday and also the family; while, adults enjoy the family, friends and spend time with people they love. Presents are not that important for us, but it doesn't mean we don't believe in magic. We believe in the children smile and laugh, we believe in a hug, in a kiss, in a look. We believe we can do magic, and be the wizard of our little cousins, brothers, children, nephews, etc. Actually, we do magic, dream is not only for children but for everyone.

Remember, you can dream whatever your age is. And, please, makes me a favour, don't lose the child that there's in you.

Walk of Fame’s Star: The last frontier of Peter Jackson

Most of you may don’t know who Peter is. For all of you, I recommend you to take you’re The Lord of the Rings case films and read their back, because Peter Jackson is the New Zealand director, producer, and screenwriter of these striking films.

Since he was a child and his friends gifted him his first Super 8 camera, he have seen the world through a lens, making us get emotion with his adaptation films and with his own creations. His characteristic films are based on amazing special effects made at a very low cost.

He shone with his first long film Bad Taste (1987). Jackson himself did nearly everything in the movie; he directed, produced, filmed and starred in it. He used a $250 second-hand camera to film the movie. It took Jackson and his friends four years to complete it. What had started as a joke in a group of friends, then, became a cult classic.

A friend of Jackson who was working in the movie industry convinced him the film had commercial prospects and arranged for it to be shown at the Cannes film festival, where it won a lot of acclaim, as well as a number of prizes. The movie soon became a hit because of its bizarre humor and overdose of special effects, some realistic and some comically amateur.

After that, Jackson became a director and the door to fame and fortune was opened to him. He gave up his job at a local photographer's shop and became a well-known director. He has directed many films like The adventures of Tintin, King Kong, and other less known such as Heavenly Creatures, Forgotten Silver or District 9.

One of his many works was the adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, a fantasy book from the successful writer John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. Actually, he has just adapted the prequel of TLOTR, The Hobbit. Moreover, seven days after the World Premiere in London of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (1 Dec.), the Oscar-winning New Zealand filmmaker will receive his Star in the Walk of Fame (Los Angeles).

"We are very happy to honor such an esteemed filmmaker as Peter Jackson with a star on the Walk of Fame," said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. "His groundbreaking and award-winning films are part of the legacy of larger-than-life, Hollywood-style entertainment that is beloved the world over."

Not only his new Star will attendance this event the 8th of December, but also a huge wealth of stars who have appeared in Middle Earth Jackson’s trilogies, such as Andy Serkis (as guest speaker), Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Richard Armitage and Elijah Wood.

From here, we want to congratulate Mr. Jackson because he really deserve that Star, and, as today is Thanksgiving, we want to thank him for enjoying our lifes with his breathtaking films.

Thank you, Mr. Jackson

Wind through the woods

He looked carefully what he had in front of him.  He started to stink in his thoughts and everything started to become darker and darker. Bad remembers, things that tortured him. Everything was going fast and slowly: the wind felling a leaf, the wind through the woods, the wind inside his chest… Then he understood what was happening. Everything was wrong because he was wrong. He couldn’t breathe, he was suffocating, so he kneeled down and do what she had always had told him. Keeping his mind blank wasn’t difficult in normal situations, but with everything he had lived that day… it was nearly impossible. Then he started to do what he didn’t use to do, think about her. He could see her ocean blue eyes; he could smell her favorite perfume as well as feel her slowly breathe.

When he opened his eyes, his breathing was normal and his heartbeat was stabilizing. He knew she wasn’t there, but he could feel her pride, he had been really fast this time. He had to focus on where he was in order to keep on until another episode happened. The walking wasn’t so bad; however, his progress was slow because he didn’t want to make any mistake.

The day was getting to end and the light was going out. Quickly, the sky would be full of stars and the forest would sink in the darkness. But he hadn’t so much time. He had to arrive to his destination before everything got dull. He started to run. It was risky, but the only solution. Sometimes, you have to take risks if you want to succeed. And sometimes risks are over the top.

What had to happen, happened. He stopped suddenly to hear. He wasn’t wrong. Someone was following him. They weren’t close to him, but if he continued stopped, they would. He started to run faster. He didn’t care about someone else could hear him, two pursuers were the same as one. For a while, he had thought about face up to whoever they were, but, then, he remembered her words: «Promise me that you’d take care of you. Don’t do anything you don’t need to do. And, remember, if you cannot walk or run, then fly». Her words were burning inside him and giving him the power to keep running.

The light was disappearing when he began to see the sky. Blue, pink, purple, orange, a mixture of life crossing the sky, like the sky he saw when he was a child, when he thought, one day, he would touch it. The steps behind them were getting closer. He had to be about to arrive. It couldn’t be so far.

Suddenly, the trees vanished. He was running in a terrace with an end, but he couldn’t stop. Whatever had in front of him, was better than what it was trying to capture him. Freedom was too much valuable those days to reject it. He made a last look to his back and he could distinguish a shape leaving the woods. It wasn’t the moment to stop. The land is almost ended, but he wasn’t going to lose his freedom, not for him, but for her.  «If you cannot walk or run, then fly» whispered her voice. That was exactly what he did. He jumped into the abyss.

Wind. Orange and blue. Wind. Purple and pink. Wind. Breathe and sun. Wings. Fly.

He opened his eyes. He had got it. He was safe and freedom. He wasn’t sure about it, but he had got it. His strong black wings had protected him for the fall.

Now, no one could follow him. Now, he was going to safe her.

I’m not going to say any Spoiler of the book or of any of the Mockingjay films. But I have to say that Sam Clafin is the best Finnick I could ever imagine. He is awesome and his performance is perfect as well as Jennifer’s. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND YOU THE BOOKS (if you haven’t read them [hungers]) and THE FILM (if you are tributes and hungers as well).

Personaly, I would say that I would like that there was only one film of the last book, however, I hope they want to make it more striking so they need two films (apart from the economic interests).

As today the film is officially launched in Spain, here you have another quiz and survey that are going to last until Sunday. Then I tell you the surprise I’m preparing.

Survey: Would you survive the hunger games? Answer here your quiz results.
